PPSC Syllabus 2021: Punjab Public Service Commission is responsible for organizing different exams within the state. It takes an entrance test, PPSC exam to appoint the eligible and most qualified candidates for different posts.

Latest PPSC 2021 Written Test and Interviews

Candidates will be admitted to the written examination/test (whenever held) provisionally. Detailed scrutiny of applications and documents of successful Candidates in written examination/test will be carried out at the time of Interview PPSC Syllabus 2021.

If any Candidate is found ineligible under Law, Rules, his /her candidature will be canceled regardless of the fact whether he/she appeared in the Written Examination/Test and qualified for the same.

Candidates will be called for an interview provisionally. On detailed scrutiny of applications and documents of the Candidates on the day of the interview, if any Candidate is found ineligible in any respect under the Rules, his / her candidature will be rejected.


One paper MCQ Type Written Test of 100 Marks and 90 minutes duration. The syllabus is as under.

  1.  Qualification related Questions (80%)
  2. General Knowledge including Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs, (20%)
    Islamic Studies (Ethics for non-Muslim candidates), Geography, Basic Mathematics, English, Urdu, Everyday Science, and Computer Studies.

NOTE: The candidate who qualifies for the written test will also appear and qualify for the proficiency test in MS Office.


MCQ Type Written Test of 90 minutes duration comprising

  1. Questions relating to General Knowledge, Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs, Islamic Studies, (Ethics for non-Muslim Candidates), Geography, Basic Mathematics, English, Urdu, Everyday Science. (80%)
  2. MS Office (20%)

Total 200 Marks
Psychological Test & Viva Voice 100 Marks
Grand Total 300 Marks

Paper-I (Objective Type) Total Marks:100

  1. English Linguistics 30 Marks
  2. Urdu Linguistics 30 Marks
  3. Translation Studies 30 Marks
  4. Computer Skills 10 Marks

Paper-II (Subjective Type) Total Marks:100

  1. Translation of an English Paragraph into Urdu
  2. Translation of a Legal Text into Urdu
  3. Translation of the legal terms into Urdu
  4. Comprehension of the terms in context
  5. Comprehension of the terms in a given paragraph
  6. Translation of Urdu text into English


i) A candidate shall have to obtain 40% marks in each paper and 50% marks in the aggregate to qualify for an interview. Thereafter, a candidate shall also
secure 50% marks in the interview to be held eligible for the final merit list of
successful candidates.
ii) Negative marking shall be made and 0.25 marks shall be deducted for each incorrect answer in the MCQ papers
NUMBER OF CHANCES: Only three (03) chances are allowed for a candidate to appear in the examination of Translator (BS-17).

  2. General Knowledge including Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs, Islamic Studies, Geography, Basic Mathematics, English, Urdu, Everyday Science, and Computer Studies. (20%) 


English shorthand with a speed of 100 words per minute, Typing speed of 35 words per minute on computer.
